POLYSTYRENE RECYCLING

WHAT WE CAN RECYCLE

Polystyrene, also known as Styrofoam, is a type of plastic that is commonly used in packaging materials. Unfortunately, it is not biodegradable and can take hundreds of years to decompose in landfills.

Our polystyrene recycling process involves grinding the material into small pieces and then compacting it into blocks. These blocks are then sold to manufacturers who use them to make new mouldings used in picture framing and as a wool substitute.

At Abilities Group, we are proud to be doing our part to promote a circular economy, minimise waste and reduce the number of trees felled.

Javier

Javier has worked for Abilities Group for the last 3 years and is quickly becoming a key part of our team. Zavier has lots of different skills and often works in different areas.

He likes to work independently and get on with a task on his own. He dismantles and prepares different types of e-waste, especially for our larger commercial customers.

On Fridays, we fire up our polystyrene recycling machine which is where you can find Javier and sometimes his brother who also works here. The polystyrene machine is complex and requires good attention to detail when loading and unloading which Javier is now an expert at. We also know that Javier is a little shy but we do love his friendly smile in our workplace.
